Discovery Student Adventures is committed to making it easy and fun to organize a group to lead on a Discovery Student Adventure. Each step is outlined below and our adventure specialists are available to support every step of the process.
Explore and Apply
- Select your destination
- Choose a travel date
- Apply online
- Meet your adventure specialist. Your adventure specialist will contact you when your application is received.
Promote
- We provide the tools to help you invite students and advise parents to build your travel group.
- We provide you with a personal webpage for your trip. Customize the content in just a few minutes.
- Use our posters, backpack letters, and fliers to generate interest in your trip.
- Host a family information night. We provide you with videos, PowerPoint presentations, and office support to answer parent questions and help students enroll. Your adventure specialist is available to Skype into your meeting.
Prepare
- Visit your Travel Center regularly. You’ll find all the resources you need—including a summary of who’s interested and who’s applied, payment status, and submitted travel forms—to get students ready for your adventure.
- Keep students engaged with our pre-travel curriculum.
- Work with students on pre-trip assignments as part of their requirements to earn academic credit.
Share the Adventure
- Complete your Discovery Student Adventures community profile.
- Join community discussions to build relationships with other traveling students and teachers.
- Post to the community during your travels to share the adventure with your family, friends, and school.
- After the trip, evaluate student assignments for student academic credit.
